OUR T-SHIRT
A Marine t-shirt from Le Minor? what could be more natural! A little history: at Le Minor, we have been knitwear specialists since 1922. Our workshop was initially dedicated to the manufacture of marine sweaters for Breton fishermen. The factory started making cotton tops in the 1960s, creating sailor tops. It is quite natural that we decided in the 2000s to apply our know-how in jersey to the design of t-shirts. If the sailor's jacket is of Breton origin, the t-shirt is American. It has become an essential classic, and we wanted to relocate it to offer a t-shirt 100% made in France. This navy blue t-shirt made in Brittany has a unisex cut: it is therefore oversized. We love its boyish cut, and the comfort of its volume.
Creation of the classic t-shirt for women
All the know-how of a marinière in a basic navy t-shirt! We don't always know it, but to make a t-shirt at Le Minor, everything starts with a cotton thread... and this cotton is itself spun in France, in the Vosges. In fact, the fabric itself is made in Le Minor's own workshops in Guidel, Brittany. And it is knitting, not weaving: the fabric of our t-shirts is a cotton jersey, the most basic knitting stitch existing, which ensures softness and elasticity, naturally. This trioctage is made on large circular machines with a retro-futuristic space capsule look. For the dyeing of our made in France t-shirts of the fall-winter collection, we opted for the dyeing in diving: realized in the Tarn, the dyeing on pieces allows a deep dyeing, with a beautiful patina in time.
