Our navy sweater for women
Ribbed navy sweater, slightly blousy, with a thin collar and jacquard knit lettering. A sweater that mixes several inspirations: classic sailor sweater, vintage references and historical reference of the brand Le Minor - the year 1964 is a pivotal year for the workshop in Guadeloupe. A successful cocktail, where the traditional sailor sweater is enhanced by a touch of original creation.
The history of our sweater 1964
1964 is an important year in the history of our company. It marks for our workshop a year of disaster and glorious rebirth.
Installed in Guidel while waiting for the end of the construction of the new workshop, the temporary workshop containing all the raw materials and the productions in progress, is carried away by the flames which will make fortunately no human victim.
This incident will not prevent Juliette Corlay from continuing the activity of Le Minor. Among the suppliers who will support her in the relaunch of her workshop, there is Guy Tabarly... father of the famous sailor. That year he asked Juliette Corlay to make a sailor sweater for his son, which he wore throughout his crossing... and on the front page of Paris-Match.
After celebrating our centenary, we wanted to celebrate this very special year, to be inspired by its energy and to highlight the year 1964.
