HERITAGE DAYS AT THE MINOR'S - SEPTEMBER 18 AND 19, 2021

On the occasion of the Heritage Days, this Saturday and Sunday, September 18 and 19, Le Minor opens the doors of its workshops, after having welcomed more than 400 people on this occasion last year, and offers an original alternative: a visit to an industrial workshop, which has been safeguarding traditional know-how for almost 100 years.

LES JOURNÉES DU PATRIMOINE CHEZ LE MINOR

As part of the Heritage Days on Saturday and Sunday, September 18 and 19, 2021, Le Minor is opening the doors of its workshops, after having welcomed more than 400 people on this occasion in 2020, and is offering an original alternative to these Heritage Days: a visit to an industrial workshop, which has been safeguarding traditional skills for nearly 100 years.

The sailor, a Breton and French heritage

The traditional Breton sailor's jacket is no longer presented... a "Frenchy" cliché abroad, a symbol of "made in France", yet few companies still make sailors in France... The defense of this heritage, Le Minor has made it its vocation, and claims to continue to manufacture this garment in a fully integrated way, by safeguarding textile know-how. And rather successfully, since in 3 years, the company has created 40 jobs, mainly productive, in its workshops in Guidel and Quimper.

Manual know-how, from knitting to finishing

Journées du patrimoine Le Minor

At Le Minor, all the steps of the manufacturing process of marine sweaters and sailors are integrated. A visit to Le Minor's workshops allows you to discover the many manual skills at work throughout the garment manufacturing process, which is fully integrated at Le Minor: knitting, steaming, cutting, assembling, and reassembling.
Fabric production is one of the highlights of the visit: the 2020 Heritage Days at Le Minor gave visitors the opportunity to discover, in amazement, the large tubular machines on which between 300 and 600 meters of fabric are produced each day. This year, it will be an opportunity to meet "Chloé", an impressive new "loom striper", acquired thanks to the France Relance grant, of which Le Minor was the winner in November 2020.

Factory tours at Le Minor: every 30 minutes, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
