Rachel knit, which originally made up the marinière for the French Navy, is to cotton what Milano is to wool: a knitted stitch that provides a great deal of structure, while being breathable and supple.
For this summer, Le Minor has reinterpreted its Rachel knit, in plain colours and without stripes.
Can a marinière be stripeless? Yes, as long as it retains certain markers, including: a boat neck, a fabric usually used for this traditional seafaring garment, and a Breton manufacture of course.
