This revisited marinière was designed in collaboration with Flâneurs: more than a shop, a label, located in the centre of Rennes, and dedicated to menswear. Flâneurs offers a selection of very demanding brands, with a particular penchant for Japanese brands and aesthetics.
And it was Japan that inspired us to design this cardigan with the Rennes-based brand: it is inspired by the ‘Noragi’ jacket, an elegant variation on a kimono.
The marinière is now available in a sleek black colour, with offwhite stripes running through it. The cotton used to make this marinière is an ‘open-end’ yarn regularly used for traditional twine or laces.
Its dry, rough texture reminds the authenticity of real Breton marinières, while offering great durability that allows the piece to develop a patina over time.
