Be careful, this traditional sweater is worn very close to the body: it's tight-fitting. Designed not to interfere with sailors' maneuvers, it has retained this close-fitting cut for 100 years. If you prefer a loose fit, opt for a ribbed sailor's sweater (newport, fisherman's sweater...). Ladies, take your usual size. See our size chart for more information.

Care instructions :
- Our knitwear is machine-washable: we recommend a cold wool cycle (or 20°C maximum) and a maximum spin speed of 600 rpm.
- However, to make your knitwear last as long as possible, hand-washing is recommended.
- Do not use detergents
- Dry flat, do not tumble dry.
- Iron at 110°C maximum
- Professional care with normal water cycle

Our sailor sweater in virgin wool

Authenticity and symbolism are the watchwords of our genuine navy blue sailor sweater, a staple of the Breton sailor wardrobe since 1922. Crossed throughout with white stripes, it revisits the traditions of Breton fishermen who used to dye their clothes. Iconic and timeless, this long-cut, close-fitting model is knitted in a tight knit from virgin wool yarn.

This historic sweater was originally designed to warm men on boats without hindering maneuvers. Maison Le Minor's beginnings date back to 1922, making it the oldest hosiery in the region still in business. The sailor sweater is made entirely in Guidel. If you're hesitating between two sizes, choose the smaller of the two. If you like to feel comfortable in your garment, choose our Newport and Pêcheur knitwear.
