A real sailor's jumper for men, made from pure new wool in a silky, trendy royal blue. This model, a must-have in our collections, has a long cut so it can be worn close to the body. The navy jumper enhances and refines the silhouette. Originally, the sailor jumper was defined as a ‘sock jumper’ because it is tight-fitting, so as not to interfere with manoeuvres on a boat.

Be careful, this traditional jumper is worn very close to the body: it's tight-fitting. Designed not to get in the way of sailors manoeuvring, it has retained this close-fitting cut for 100 years. If you prefer a loose fit, opt for a navy jumper with ribbed edges (Newport, fisherman's jumper, etc.). Gentlemen, take a size larger than your usual size. See our size chart for more information.

Care instructions :
- Our knits are machine washable: we recommend a cold wool cycle (or 20°C maximum) and a maximum 600 rpm spin.
- However, to make your knitwear last as long as possible, hand washing is recommended.
- Do not use detergents
- Dry flat, do not tumble dry
- Iron at 110°C maximum
- Professional care with normal water cycle

Our sailor sweater in virgin wool

Created in the historic workshops of Le Minor hosiery, this knitted treasure is an ode to the sea and its travellers. An emblematic and timeless garment, our sailor jumper has remained unchanged for 100 years, with its long, close-fitting cut. It's a must-have for men's wardrobes, and something every fashion-conscious man should have in his wardrobe.

This marine knit, with its narrow cut and fairly long body, was originally designed to be worn very close to the body, to increase body temperature without interfering with manoeuvres on the boat. That's why it's called the ‘sock jumper’: it's tight-fitting, and has been worn that way for over a hundred years. It's a Breton tradition that deserves to be embraced, as it comes from the region's oldest surviving hosiery factory, Le Minor, which dates back to 1922. If you're hesitating between two sizes, opt for the larger one. If you don't feel comfortable with this close-fitting knit, you'd be better off choosing one of our loose, comfortable navy jumpers: the fisherman jumper, the Newport jumper... or a finer, softer model: the plain merino navy jumper.
