A real sailor's jumper for men, 100% virgin wool, available in yellow for men who love colour. A must-have knit from our Breton knitting workshops, this fitted model has a long cut so it can be worn close to the body. The navy jumper makes for an elegant silhouette in all circumstances. Traditionally known as the ‘sock jumper’, it's tight-fitting so it doesn't get in the way when manoeuvring on a boat.

Be careful, this traditional jumper is worn very close to the body: it's tight-fitting. Designed not to get in the way of sailors manoeuvring, it has retained this close-fitting cut for 100 years. If you prefer a loose fit, opt for a navy jumper with ribbed edges (Newport, fisherman's jumper, etc.). Gentlemen, take a size larger than your usual size. See our size chart for more information.

Composition : 100% Virgin wool

Care instructions :
- Our knitwear is machine washable: we recommend a cold wool cycle (or 20°C maximum) and a maximum 600 rpm spin.
- However, to make your knitwear last as long as possible, hand washing is recommended.

Our sailor sweater in virgin wool

The genuine sailor jumper for men that has made Le Minor hosiery so successful. It is now available in yellow, to recall the colour our workshops worked with in the 70s. This garment is a timeless essential that has remained unchanged for over a hundred years - it is worn close to the body with its long cut - and is the garment that every man should have in his wardrobe.

This marine knit was originally designed to be worn close to the body, to keep sailors warm without getting in the way of boat manoeuvres. That's why it's commonly known as the ‘sock jumper’: it's tight-fitting, and has been worn that way since it was first made. Although the button placket on the sailor jumper is a Scottish innovation, this Breton knitwear deserves the services of the oldest hosiery workshop still operating in the Brittany region: the Le Minor hosiery workshop, which dates back to 1922. Take the larger size if you're hesitating between two sizes. If you're not comfortable wearing a close-fitting garment, choose one of our looser-fitting models: Newport, fisherman's jumper... or opt for our extra-soft, more comfortable merino wool, with the plain merino wool sailor's jumper.
