OUR marinière for men

The design of this sailor's jacket is inspired by an archive photo showing Pablo Picasso behind a window, with a sailor's jacket whose irregular stripes are more reminiscent of Basque linen than of the regulation sailor's jackets of the French Navy, recognizable by their 21 stripes, that Picasso used to wear. Making this irregular stripe was a challenge in our workshop! But we succeeded, thanks to the talent and determination of our knitters.

Creation of our men's sailor jacket

The Pablo sailor shirt is more like a long-sleeved shirt than a traditional sailor shirt, and not only because of its ribbed collar. The cut is slightly loose, for comfort, and short, as opposed to the traditional sailor, which is close to the body and rather long. This mix is perfect for those who are looking for an original marinière, modernizing the codes of the traditional marinière. The cotton used for this marinière is our Rustique cotton, our famous cotton spun in France, carded, which gives a unique touch and hand to our marinières.

Très content

Très content de cette marinière originale qui a l'avantage d'avoir un col t-shirt un peu plus habillé.... Comme d'habitude chez Le Minor, excellent tissu et finitions, avec en plus une fabrication locale. Que demander de plus?

Enfin!

Désolé pour les puristes dont je suis, ou peut-être également, mais enfin une marinière avec un col plus facilement portable ainsi que de vrais longueurs de manches. Certes on n’est plus dans la tradition du sous-vêtement du marin, mais on a quand même l’héritage de Pablo…
