A real sailor's jumper for men, 100% virgin wool, the first garment made by Le Minor hosiery. This tight-fitting model is distinguished by its long, close-fitting cut, creating an elegant, refined silhouette. It's traditionally known as a ‘sock jumper’ because it's tight-fitting, so it doesn't get in the way when manoeuvring on a boat.

Be careful, this traditional jumper is worn very close to the body: it's tight-fitting. Designed not to get in the way of sailors manoeuvring, it has retained this close-fitting cut for 100 years. If you prefer a loose fit, opt for a navy jumper with ribbed edges (Newport, fisherman's jumper, etc.). Gentlemen, take a size larger than your usual size. See our size chart for more information.

Care instructions :
- Our knitwear is machine washable: we recommend a cold wool cycle (or 20°C maximum) and a maximum 600 rpm spin.
- However, to make your knitwear last as long as possible, hand washing is recommended.
- Do not use detergents
- Dry flat, do not tumble dry
- Iron at 110°C maximum
- Professional care with normal water cycle

The ‘real sailor jumper’ for men has been the success story of Le Minor hosiery. An emblematic and timeless garment, this model has remained unchanged for almost 100 years with its long, close-fitting cut and is an absolute classic in men's wardrobes: it's the garment every man should have in his wardrobe.

The cut is narrow and the body quite long, because this marine knit was originally designed to be worn close to the body, to keep warm without getting in the way when manoeuvring a boat. That's why it's commonly known as the ‘sock jumper’: it's tight-fitting, and has been worn that way for over 100 years. With its Breton tradition (although the button placket is a Scottish innovation), it's worth calling on the oldest hosiery workshop still operating in Brittany: Le Minor hosiery workshop dates back to 1922. If you're not sure which size to choose, go for the larger size. If you're not comfortable with a close-fitting cut, opt for our fuller navy jumpers: the Newport model, the fisherman's jumper... or the thinner, softer navy jumper in plain merino.

Creation of our blue sailor sweater

This authentic navy blue sweater for men is knitted with pure wool yarn, itself spun in Europe. The yarn is finely titled and dyed to order for Le Minor, by the historical supplier of the French Navy. The choice of the material, then the knitting of the panels of this sweater, in the workshop of Morbihan, makes it possible to obtain a characteristic stitch, very qualitative. The hand of the sweater, that is to say the quality that emerges to the touch, immediately testifies that we are in the presence of a traditional marine sweater for men, still manufactured according to the historical recipe. The adaptation of this garment to all situations is no longer to be proven. Of robust construction, the sailor sweater plain navy accompanies the sailors and adventurers.
